LOUIS PHILIPPSON
MASQUERADE – LIVE 2027
Louis Philippson is Germany’s biggest piano star—and has long been more of a pop star than just a pianist. With millions of fans, sold-out tours, and a steadily growing fan base, the 23-year-old has carved out his own niche at the intersection of concert halls, social media, and pop culture. Following his first two successful albums, his new album “Masquerade” will be released on March 5, 2027. In the fall of 2027, the charismatic virtuoso will embark on his biggest concert tour to date, traveling through Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Accompanied by a large ensemble, he will present a fascinating mix of classical masterpieces, his own compositions, and iconic pop and dance music.
Louis Philippson began attending music school at age four; at eight, he became a young student at the Robert Schumann University of Music in Düsseldorf. Numerous national and international piano competitions, as well as his activities on TikTok and Instagram, laid the foundation for his meteoric rise. In a very short time, the artist—who grew up in Mühlheim—became a celebrated classical star, a host for Toggo and ZDF, and a social media phenomenon.
His humorous video clips, virtuoso piano performances, and creative music videos reach an audience of millions across generations. At the same time, he is conquering the big stages: in 2024, he will perform at the “Night of the Proms” in front of an audience of around 200,000 people. In 2025, he releases two albums at once: “Exposition” and “My Way.” This is followed by red carpets, galas, and awards such as the OPUS KLASSIK. The media are in agreement: Louis Philippson is the “new rock star of classical music” (RBB), who manages to blend “classical and contemporary music with incredible ease” (NDR).
After two completely sold-out tours, Louis Philippson returns to the stage in the fall of 2027 with his new album “Masquerade.” A first preview is the single “Berghain,” which is set to be released on September 25, 2026. Together with violinist Esther Abrami and the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, he transforms Rosalia’s hit into an orchestral work for piano, solo violin, and orchestra.
Inspired by the Venetian tradition, “Masquerade” whisks the audience away to a musical masquerade ball. Classical masterpieces, original compositions, and iconic pop and dance music come together to create a rich sonic journey through eras and genres. Bold and unconventional, Louis Philippson breaks down genre boundaries, bringing together Bach, Mozart, Chopin, and Strauss with Duke Ellington, Rosalía, Michael Jackson, and Queen.
At times intimate and focused entirely on the piano, at other times grand and opulent, the musical journey takes listeners from the great masters of classical music to the iconic sounds of pop and dance history. Backed by an excellent ensemble, the “Masquerade – Live 2027” tour becomes a multifaceted live experience blending virtuoso piano artistry with powerful arrangements.
The show is rounded out by an almost futuristic stage featuring projection screens and spectacular lighting effects.
For this highly talented classical-pop star, making music is far more than just playing an instrument. It is his way of reaching people, creating a sense of connection, and sharing his enthusiasm for music. With his virtuosic artistry and his humorous, likable, and genuine demeanor, Louis Philippson succeeds in connecting with the hearts of his audience.
