Love Songs Between Venice and Augsburg
The “Piccola Venezia” concert takes you on a musical journey back to the 15th and 16th centuries, when Venice was the most important center of European music printing and spread Italian music throughout Europe.
Via the Fugger trade routes, the prints of the famous Venetian publisher Ottaviano Petrucci made their way to Augsburg. Along with them came melodies, poems, and musical ideas that shaped the cultural exchange between Italy and southern Germany. The Per-Sonat ensemble brings this era back to life and presents the most beloved love songs of the Renaissance.
Here’s what to expect:
- Moving Italian love songs from the Renaissance, dating from the 15th and 16th centuries
- Fascinating insights into the cultural history between Italy and Augsburg during the Fugger era
- Historical instruments and authentic Renaissance soundscapes
- A musical journey full of poetry, elegance, and Italian joie de vivre
