With “PULSE,” the artist collective PROJEKTIL presents an immersive reinterpretation of Bedřich Smetana’s “The Vltava” for the first time in Stuttgart. The production combines music with 360° projections as well as light and water elements. The narrative follows the course of the river from its source to its confluence with the Elbe.
There are two formats to choose from: “Cinematic” is based on a recording made under the direction of Martin Skalsky with the Prague Symphony Orchestra, supplemented by electronic elements and sound design by Tobias Preisig (Egopusher). This version is shown Wednesday through Sunday. “Live in Concert” combines the projections with live music on select evenings, featuring a string quartet, guitar, or organ. A limited number of seats are available for the live performances.
The neo-Gothic St. John’s Church is located on a peninsula in Stuttgart’s Feuersee and, with its unique waterfront setting, provides the backdrop for the immersive production of “PULSE.”
