Don’t dream it, be it—A phenomenon that connects generations

Behind this flamboyant facade lies a pop culture milestone that premiered in London in 1973. Just two years later, in 1975, the film adaptation “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” took the theaters by storm and cemented its worldwide cult status once and for all. With his work, Richard O’Brien created a satirical homage to the B-movies of the 1930s through the 1960s, which continues to shape drag shows, rock bands, and the burlesque scene to this day. The timeless message “Don’t dream it, be it” remains at the heart of this phenomenon, which captivates audiences equally as a cinematic classic and as a spectacular live experience on stage.
