The crisis is over! Well, my relationship crisis, anyway. Thank goodness. Finally single—yay! Finally alone. It’s just that I imagined being alone differently. Namely, less alone. All of a sudden, my friends aren’t reachable anymore, even though they’re constantly online. Even the city has somehow locked itself away overnight. How are you supposed to love yourself when you can’t go anywhere? But who needs all that anyway? Every crisis is an opportunity! Now I have much more time for the important things in life. For me?—For my career! Like founding successful startups, for example. Because nothing is as sexy as success. Self-love is also easier when you think you’re hot. Success is hot, and being successful has never been easier than it is today—because everything is digital. No one has to go outside anymore!
In his debut show, Romeo Kaltenbrunner searches for love and recognition, but runs the risk of losing himself in the process. In SELBSTLIEBE, the newcomer explores the deep longing of his generation through everyday and humorous stories. Don’t we all just want to belong somewhere?

This event is part of our irregular series “Wiener Blut.” From 2004 to 2013, the Rosenau, together with the Theater Rampe, Theaterhaus, Literaturhaus, and Laboratorium, organized the annual “Wiener Woche” festival. The idea was to turn our attention to Vienna, Austria, for a week and specifically invite cabaret artists, writers, authors, and theater productions from there to Stuttgart. The “Wiener Blut” series is now reviving this idea. Throughout the year, various Austrian cabaret artists will present their shows at the Rosenau: social, political, and interpersonal themes will be brought to the stage in an entertaining cabaret style! And everything will be a bit more biting, wicked, ironic, offbeat, and often more poetic than what you’d find in Germany.
