Homeless in the quarry of words A portrait of the poet Rose Ausländer (1901-1988) at Wortkino - Dein Theater.

Writing is life. Survival.
In Katharina Reich's program, a person injured by brutality, whose reaction to violence was language, has her say.

Rose Ausländer was born in Czernowitz/Bukowina in 1901 and died in Düsseldorf in 1988. Persecuted as a Jew by the National Socialists, she survived in the Czernowitz ghetto. She emigrated to the USA in 1946, returned to Europe in 1964 and moved to Düsseldorf in 1965. Rose Ausländer published more than thirty volumes of poetry and received numerous literary awards. The author expresses her feelings with clear determination and shows what touching fates are hidden behind death statistics.
