The cats have been shouting it from the rooftops for ages: The new show by Spandau’s blonde-streaked king of puppet comedy, Sascha Grammel, is here. And this time, the motto is: Put down your suitcase, check in, put your feet up—and just forget about everything else! And with that, a warm welcome to the Grammel Hotel!
The title of the new, sensational live spectacle: WHY NOT? Ah yes, very nice. But isn’t there a “T” missing? You’re right—now that you mention it, we notice it too. But never mind—our Saschi has always left out whatever wasn’t absolutely necessary: commendable punctuality, a college degree, a hairstyle, … At this point, even the smartest smart alecks realize: Spandau’s naturally cheerful, perennial winner of hearts is still having a blast with his own nonsense in Program Number 6. So fans, friends, and friends of fans can once again look forward to a hearty serving of classic Grammel-style madness with loooads of heart and genuine G-rated family fun. And Grammel wouldn’t be Grammel (but let’s say a very large, featherless chicken with poor eyesight and surprisingly wild lyrical tangents) if a new, crazy-quirky puppet character didn’t also find its way into the Grammel Hotel. We can’t wait to see it. Oh yes!
Visually, too, Don Grammeloni’s latest prank, *WHY NOT?*, takes things to the next level: For months, seasoned illustrators, engineers, architects, and lighting and sound technicians (along with a ventriloquist from Spandau who shall remain nameless here) have been working on the new stage design. It combines the beloved, wonderfully imperfect, quirky Grammel comic world with the latest technical standards and state-of-the-art possibilities. At the same time, it keeps the anticipation for the new live show growing daily—even for the chronically cheerful namesake of the whole project. And rightly so!
In short: The new ProGrammel is ready, and starting February 25, 2027, the colorful puppet comedy collective will once again go on tour throughout Germany. And once again, our little ray of sunshine from Spandau has firmly resolved to talk to himself for nearly two hours straight, play with puppets in public as a grown-up, and let as many people as possible watch him do it. Why?
