Saxon announces the Gods of Thunder Tour.
Dates in March 2027 in Hamburg, Erfurt, Nuremberg, Stuttgart, Munich, Berlin, and Cologne.
Frankfurt, October 26, 2026 – British heavy metal legends Saxon are back with *Gods of Thunder*—their new studio album, which explores themes such as history, fantasy, horror, ancient mythology, pagan rites, and the timeless spirit of rock ’n’ roll—and is set for release on January 22, 2027. To promote this new masterpiece, the pioneers of NWOHBM will thrill their fans with outstanding, electrifying shows. Saxon is like a fine red wine—the older, the better.
On the *Gods of Thunder* Tour, the band will not only play songs from their new album of the same name but also their well-known classics and fan favorites. Confirmed shows include Hamburg (March 3, Große Freiheit 36), Erfurt (March 10, Central), Nuremberg (March 14, Löwensaal), Stuttgart (March 16, Im Wizemann), Munich (March 20, Kesselhaus), Berlin (March 22, Huxleys Neue Welt), and Cologne (March 23, E-Werk).
Saxon will treat their fans in Cologne to a special gift—there, they will present the classic, highly elaborate “Castles & Eagles” production exclusively in Germany and let the iconic eagle take flight. The nine-meter-tall eagle (with a wingspan of twelve meters) is the centerpiece of the production; equipped with real aircraft landing lights and intense lighting effects, it hovers above the band during the concert.
