Sophie Hunger & Ensemble - Spring Tour

“Hotel Hunger” Tour 2027

Sophie Hunger is one of those rare artists whose work defies easy categorization—and it is precisely in this that her special power lies. Born in 1983, the Swiss musician, composer, and writer moves effortlessly between folk, jazz, pop, chanson, and experimental soundscapes. Since her breakthrough with “Monday’s Ghost,” Sophie Hunger has created a body of work that constantly reinvents itself while remaining unmistakably her own. In doing so, she also seeks out collaborations with other artistic voices: she has worked with Dan Carey, sung with Eric Cantona, and, together with Faber and Dino Brandão in the “Brandão Faber Hunger” project, developed a unique, collaborative form of storytelling. The venues where she performs also reflect this openness: from the Montreux Jazz Festival to the Glastonbury Festival, where she was the first Swiss artist to be invited in 2010—from concert stages to theater spaces.

With her long-awaited eighth studio album, “Fall and Rise at Hotel Hunger,” Sophie Hunger returns to the music world after a seven-year hiatus. Following her sold-out solo tour in support of her award-winning novel “Waltz for Nobody,” she is now looking forward to performing with a polyphonic ensemble. Transverse flutes, marimba, classical piano, cello drones, and more weave together to form a genre-bending, magical orchestra. In doing so, the singer-songwriter unites what classical music typically separates: composition, libretto, and interpretation. In a single night, from sunset to sunrise, Sophie Hunger guides the audience through spaces, time zones, and identities in search of a new dawn. Welcome!
