STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® World Championships 2026 in Stuttgart

The World Championships in Sports Lumberjacking will return to the Porsche Arena in Stuttgart.
The most prestigious competition in original extreme sports is returning to Stuttgart. STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® celebrates a comeback and a real home game at the same time with the awarding of the World Championship in 2026: The Porsche Arena in Stuttgart will host the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® World Championships on October 30 and 31, 2026. After 2013, 2016 and 2023, this will be the fourth international championships to be held in the state capital of Baden-Württemberg.
At the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® World Championships, the elite in sport woodcutting, 120 athletes from over 20 nations, will compete against each other over two days in adrenaline-filled competitions.
Team World Championships - October 30, 2026
The Team World Championships will open the weekend on Friday. The best national teams will compete against each other in a knockout system, with four athletes from each nation completing the TIMBERSPORTS® disciplines of Stock Saw, Underhand Chop, Single Buck and Standing Block Chop in a relay format.
Individual World Championship - October 31, 2026
The Individual World Championship will then take place on Saturday. The top twelve individual athletes in the world will compete in all six TIMBERSPORTS® disciplines in a three-round elimination format. In each discipline, athletes are awarded points for the time it takes them to complete the discipline, with the lowest ranked athletes being eliminated after each round. The athlete who achieves the highest score in the three rounds will become the Individual World Champion.
The best athletes will qualify for the Individual World Championships throughout the 2026 season, with the national champions of the USA, Canada, New Zealand and Australia competing against the eight best national champions from Europe. The 2026 German champion will represent the host country.
