48. Stuttgarter STOLPERSTEIN-Verlegung

STOLPERSTEIN Installation as a Community Event
“Stolpersteine are a living culture of remembrance in the fight against right-wing extremism”

On Wednesday, November 18, 15 Stolpersteine will be laid in eight city districts as part of so-called community installations. During community installations, Gunter Demnig—the artist and initiator of the European art and remembrance project—does not lay the stones himself; instead, the commemorative stones are laid by the city’s construction crew.

Festive ceremonies will honor those who suffered the most brutal violence because of their heritage or faith, their illness, or because they resisted the ruling Nazis.
