Süddeutsches Sinfonieorchester: Sturm und Klang!
- Location:
- Kultur- und Kongresszentrum Liederhalle Mozart-Saal, Berliner Platz 1, 70174 Stuttgart
The South German Symphony Orchestra was founded in 2025 and has been growing at a rapid pace ever since. Originally consisting of a group of young friends, all of whom were prizewinners at many national and international competitions, a larger symphony orchestra is developing in which a wide variety of musicians from the region come together: Members of the Bundesjugendorchester, students of the Musikhochschule, reinforced by the experience of members of Stuttgart's large professional orchestras. The great common goal of the young orchestra: to rethink classical music, to try things out, to develop, to convince through energy and quality!
In their new concert tour "Sturm und Klang", an allusion to a literary youth movement of the 18th century, to which we owe many of the great German artists, the orchestra wants to present the most talented young musicians of the region in a large setting. Our future should be able to come to the sound at this concert, show itself and inspire the audience! The 5 soloists are still at school age, but have been able to draw attention to themselves in a large series of important competition successes and awards, the future belongs to them. The South German Symphony Orchestra, which has already played in halls such as the Beethovensaal Stuttgart despite the short time since it was founded, always receives the enthusiasm and generous applause of the audience for its high quality and rousing energy. This concert series is also intended to represent a new way of shaping the future together in a combination of tradition, experience and a youthful spirit of optimism.
The orchestra is conducted by Patrick Giesel, a young conductor from Stuttgart who was trained in Finland by Jorma Panula, the founder of the Finnish conducting miracle and teacher of many of today's most important conducting stars such as Esa-Pekka Salonen, Mikko Franck and Klaus Mäkelä. Despite his young age, he was able to gain early experience with all orchestras and concerts and also received important musical and human impulses from great musicians such as Dan Ettinger, Daniel Barenboim, Jörg Widmann and Marek Janowski.
Together with the South German Orchestra, they will create an unforgettable concert evening in the Liederhalle Stuttgart with works by Weber, Hoffmeister, Mozart and Mendelssohn.
This concert is being held in cooperation with UNICEF, the world's largest children's aid organization of the United Nations: Because not only artistic but also human and social responsibility should be at the forefront of the concerts; young people play for young people in need!
The soloists: Simon Gollong (bassoon), Elisabeth Gühring (violin), William Kaden (piano), Daito Kobayashi (clarinet), Anna Ringger (viola).
