The Sound of James Bond

Theme songs and excerpts from the soundtracks of “From Russia with Love,” “Goldfinger,” “Thunderball,” “You Only Live Twice,” “Diamonds Are Forever,” “Live and Let Die,” “GoldenEye,” “Casino Royale,” “Skyfall,” “No Time to Die,” and more

The actors may come and go, but the numbers 007 have stood for British coolness, cult status, and thrills for over six decades. The “James Bond” formula for success has it all: strong women, fast cars, spectacular stunts, and breathtaking car chases. In 25 films, the infamous MI6 agent has managed to save humanity from the most menacing villains in the world’s most exotic locations—and, along the way, seduce the most exciting women—always with style, charm, and a martini shaken, never stirred.

Just as unmistakable as James Bond himself is the music that has accompanied him from the very beginning. First and foremost is the legendary theme song—a classic among film score intros that always provides the perfect soundtrack, whether in a casino or during breathtaking stunts. And just like the license to kill, a new theme song is part of every 007 adventure. Film music giants such as John Barry, David Arnold, and Hans Zimmer were responsible for these timeless soundtracks. The biggest stars in music history have shaped the catalog of iconic Bond songs, including Shirley Bassey, Louis Armstrong, Nancy Sinatra, Tina Turner, Tom Jones, and Adele.

Following last year’s acclaimed concerts, the music of 007 will come to life once again starting November 26. Presented live by a large symphony orchestra and a band, and featuring two outstanding soloists: South African singer Tertia Botha, who captivates with her versatility and energetic presence, and American singer Dennis LeGree, whose distinctive soul and gospel voice delivers unforgettable goosebump moments. Together, they bring the Bond songs to life in all their glory.

Dietmar Wunder will host the evening: For many years, he has lent his unique voice to Daniel Craig as a voice actor, thereby shaping the character for German-speaking audiences. With charm, humor, and exciting anecdotes from the world of 007, he guides the audience through the program as host, weaving the music together with stories that are sure to bring a smile to the faces of more than just Bond fans.
