The Thracian Cultural Association Stuttgart, founded in 1979, preserves and promotes the culture of Thrace. With a dance group of almost 50 members, it takes part in performances throughout Europe. In the StadtPalais, the association presents Thracian culture in the exhibition "In the name of freedom".

The Thracian Cultural Association Stuttgart was founded in 1979 with the aim of preserving the cultural heritage of Thrace and passing it on from generation to generation. The nostalgia of the founding members and the desire of the Thracians living here in Stuttgart to preserve their home customs led to the founding of this association.

The registered association, which is based in Stuttgart, takes part in many cultural events and actively participates in many others across all associations. At its heart is the almost 50-strong dance group, which takes part in several Europe-wide performances every year. In the spirit of the association, care is taken to ensure that the dances and traditional costumes are authentic and correspond to their place of origin.

As part of the "In the Name of Freedom" exhibition, the association presents Thracian history, culture and traditions in the StadtPalais - a folklore evening with dance, music and a lecture.
The "In the Name of Freedom" exhibition highlights the connection between Stuttgart and the Greek revolution of 1821. It shows how the Swabian "philhellenes" supported the Greek fight for freedom and showed solidarity with Greek refugees.

The event is free and the exhibition can also be visited free of charge until 9 pm on the evening of the event.
