OUR BLUE PLANET III - Live in Concert 2027

OUR BLUE PLANET III
- LIVE IN CONCERT –

The most spectacular scenes from the new BBC nature documentary in Ultra HD on a giant LED screen—accompanied live by The City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra.
Music by Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer, Thom Lukas & Laurentia Editha for Bleeding Fingers Music
Live host: Uli Kunz

Our Blue Planet III—the BBC’s new, spectacular nature documentary—will once again take television audiences in Germany on a journey into the world beneath the ocean’s surface starting in early January. In a total of six episodes—co-produced and broadcast on ZDF—the third installment of the award-winning Our Blue Planet series once again reveals exciting secrets and breathtaking wonders of our oceans, thanks to advanced developments in camera technology and new scientific discoveries.
Shortly thereafter, starting May 4, 2027, these extraordinary underwater habitats and their inhabitants will also be on display on a literally grand scale as a live experience: “Our Blue Planet III – Live in Concert,” presented by BBC Studios and FKP Scorpio Entertainment, is going on tour throughout Germany—a total of eleven arena dates are scheduled across the country.

Audiences at the live productions can rediscover moments from the TV series—specially selected for the live version—in an extraordinary concert experience. The breathtaking footage fills a state-of-the-art Ultra-HD LED screen with an area of 200 square meters—roughly the size of a tennis court—making it one of the largest screens of its kind used in an orchestral tour featuring film projections. Accompanying this, the renowned City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra performs live the impressive new film score by Oscar®-winning composer Hans Zimmer, as well as music by Thom Lukas and Laurentia Editha for Bleeding Fingers Music.

Next year’s new tour builds on the remarkable success of previous BBC Earth Live productions in Germany: The three “Planet Earth – Live in Concert” productions, “Frozen Worlds – Live in Concert,” and “Our Blue Planet II – Live in Concert” have already thrilled hundreds of thousands of visitors in this country over the past two decades. As a result, these outstanding BBC nature documentary series have established themselves as thrilling live shows and have made some of television’s most spectacular wildlife footage accessible to live audiences across the country.
The music for *Our Blue Planet III*, composed by the legendary Hans Zimmer, Thom Lukas, and Laurentia Editha for Bleeding Fingers Music, follows in the tradition of the previous *Our Blue Planet* and *Planet Earth* series. As a soundtrack, it does more than simply accompany the nature footage; it has helped redefine what a nature documentary can sound like. It has been honored with numerous BAFTA and Emmy Awards and, just as in the series, plays a very special role as an emotional catalyst in the live production as well.

Hans Zimmer on the “Our Blue Planet III – Live in Concert” production:“There’s nothing more beautiful than experiencing this film score live with an orchestra, especially when combined with the extraordinary images of underwater life. Thom, Laurentia, and I are thrilled that audiences can enjoy our music in this way.”

Between the concert segments, marine biologist and research diver Uli Kunz guides viewers on their journey of discovery and provides additional insights into the creation of this unique footage. Uli Kunz has been a regular host of the ZDF documentary series Terra X since 2019. Ever since his first adventure as a young boy with diving goggles and a snorkel in Lake Constance, he has been fascinated by the world beneath the water’s surface, which has shaped his life and career.

Uli is eagerly looking forward to his role on stage for “Our Blue Planet III – Live in Concert”:“Working on *Our Blue Planet III* took the camera crews to unique locations they never would have dreamed of filming at—and I’m really looking forward to being part of such an extraordinary live production once again. Showing the footage in a concert arena filled with people, while the music fills the entire space live, will be something truly special. This tour offers a unique opportunity to present the series in a completely different setting and in a whole new dimension. I can’t wait to be there in person and tell the extraordinary stories behind the images that the audience sees on the screen.”
