US Rails

The Blue Rose all-star band, consisting of Ben Arnold, Scott Bricklin and Tom Gillam as well as the frequently booked studio session drummer Matt Muir, is once again doing the honors at the Lab.

What The Resentments and the Band Of Heathens are to Austin, the US Rails are to Philadelphia: an amalgamation of several highly successful and established musicians under their own names to form a supergroup in which the individualists put their own egos aside in order to show as an ensemble that the whole is even better than the already brilliant individual parts according to the motto "the team is the star".
They came together at the beginning of the millennium in the singer-songwriter scene in Philadelphia, and their first concerts attracted attention. Their first flying visit to Europe in 2009 was followed by their debut album and, just a few months later, their first extensive and highly acclaimed European tour. Basically, US Rails could have left it at that, because everyone involved is going about their own business and can't really complain about boredom. But once the inspiration is kindled and the musical bond is intact, when all four are firmly convinced of their common path, then you just have to keep going! This is what happened in 2012 with the next European tour and the previously released second CD Southern Canon. Unlike their debut, which was put together over a longer period of time rather like a patchwork and largely consisted of existing song material, the musicians now wrote completely new material exclusively for their US Rails project.
