A selection from the collection of Dr. József Böhm
"The private collection of the physician and collector Dr. József Böhm Junior, born in Nagyvárad/Oradea and now in its third generation, goes back to his father, the late Dr. József Böhm, who also worked as a physician and systematically built it up. The collection includes important works of classical modernism and is presented to a wide audience in Hungary, Transylvania and Germany with ten to twelve exhibitions each year.
The exhibition in Stuttgart now shows a selection of masterpieces and creates connections to works by German artists through visual analogies. This juxtaposition makes it easier for the public to access the collection and clarifies art-historical connections.
A special feature of this exhibition is the regional anchoring of some of the artists presented: several of them have close links to various places in Baden-Württemberg. The core of the collection includes important works by János Mattis Teutsch, Noémi Ferenczy, Vilmos Perlrott-Csaba, Sándor Ziffer, Karl Hübner and Henrik Neugeboren.
Curator: Márton Barki
