It’s evening; the sun has set…
Throughout the centuries and across various cultures, composers have drawn inspiration from the themes of evening, sleep, and dreams for their compositions. The spectrum ranges from works for large ensembles to intimate lullabies and sleep songs.
For many people, lullabies sung by their parents and grandparents are among their first encounters with music. The boundaries between traditional folk tunes and classical compositions blur.
International students from various departments at the HMDK Stuttgart are presenting a concert evening featuring chamber music and songs on the theme of “lullabies.” In addition to simple folk melodies, the program includes works by Mozart, Schubert, Brahms, Dutilleux, Britten, de Falla, and others.
