LIVE PHOTO & FILM SHOW BY AND FEATURING WILLI WEITZEL
Recommended for ages 5–99
We dream of being an influencer or a soccer star, of big trips and lots of money, of happiness and peace, and sometimes just of a roof over our heads and a daily meal. Willi Weitzel—known from “Willi Wants to Know”—has asked many people about their dreams. The result was even more questions: What do I dream of? What’s stopping me from fulfilling my dreams? Do children dream bigger than adults? Why do people talk me out of my dreams? Can we unlearn or unlearn how to dream?
Accompanied by powerful photos on a large screen, Willi gives a compelling account of his encounters with people around the world and how he is fulfilling his own childhood dreams.
He sets off on a grand voyage in a homemade raft, takes the longest walk of his life, treats himself to a visit to the Land of Milk and Honey, and embarks on a journey across the wide world. In the process, he discovers how differently people dream: often modest and small, but also that dreams can grow and develop magical powers.
A show full of real life, inspiring adventures, moving depth, crazy ideas, and funny anecdotes. Anyone who knows Willi knows: This will be more than just entertainment; it will be an experience that touches you and lingers. 90 minutes of laughter, wonder, excitement, and of course, dreaming! And what do you dream of?
P.S.: In fulfilling his dreams, Willi received fantastic support from Annika Preil (Anna and the Wild Animals) and Julian Jansen (Checker Julian).
Willi Weitzel earned a degree in secondary education before taking the hearts of thousands of children (and their parents) by storm with the TV show “Willi Wants to Know.” In his incomparably charming and mischievous way, he asked countless questions to get to the bottom of the many things that make our Earth so unique. “Willi and the Wonders of the World” has been one of the most-watched documentaries of recent years, with around 450,000 theatergoers. During filming, Willi got a taste of the wider world. His thirst for adventure was awakened, and so he went from being a fast-paced reporter to a traveling one. He shares his experiences from the road with his audience live on stage. “Willi’s Wild Ways” has since captivated countless viewers. He is currently on tour with his new show “Willi Live – And What Do You Dream Of?”
In addition, Willi Weitzel volunteers as a sponsor for the children’s charity UNICEF and as an ambassador for the UN Decade on Biodiversity. Willi is also the patron of the initiative “Junge Forscherinnen und Forscher e.V.” He has been honored with the Grimme Prize, the Bavarian Television Prize, the Erich Kästner Television Prize, and the Grand Prize of the German Academy for Children’s and Youth Literature, among others.
