What does democracy mean to me? We talk about the importance of young voices in society, write rap lyrics and design posters with graffiti writing. School classes from Stuttgart from grade 8 onwards can apply for this one-day workshop.

In this one-day workshop for school classes in cooperation with the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Baden-Württemberg, hip-hop pioneer Toni-L (Advanced Chemistry) and his team from the Free Hip-Hop Institute Heidelberg will teach modern songwriting and calligraphy methods on the subject of democracy. We talk about the importance of young voices in society, write rap lyrics and design posters with graffiti writing.

The FHI - Free Hip-Hop Institute communicates, researches and archives the cultural heritage of hip-hop: from the stories and philosophies, the documents and archives to the artistic practices and moral values. With their team of contemporary witnesses, artists and academics, they have the experience and expertise to authentically convey hip-hop in theory and practice.

The workshop is part of the supporting program for the Greenpeace exhibition "Protecting Democracy" from 7 to 18 October 2025 in the Bad Cannstatt district library.
