Castles and palaces

The area around Stuttgart boasts a wealth of historic buildings for you to discover, ranging from medieval castles and baroque palaces to magnificent royal residences and long-forgotten ruins.

There are six castles in Stuttgart alone. Two of them are located in the heart of the city, nearby Schlossplatz. From the sensationally well-preserved rococo palace of Solitude, you can directly discover the Residential Palace Ludwigsburg via a visual axis - the "Swabian Versailles", a baroque dream with a large park and fairytale garden. Nobility obliges!
