Aussichtspunkt Bubenbad

If you like it quiet, the Bubenbad is just the place for you. The viewpoint on the Gänseheide invites you to linger or take a leisurely stroll. If you walk straight ahead into Richard-Wagner-Straße, you will find the Villa Reitzenstein. Today, the villa is the official residence of the Baden-Württemberg State Ministry and the current Minister President.

Did you know why this spot is called "Bubenbad"? In earlier centuries, there was a pond at Albrecht-Goes-Platz where boys bathed. Girls didn't, because they were afraid of the salamanders in the pond. In 1895, a boy drowned while bathing. As a result, the pond was filled in, a meadow was laid out on it and a fountain with a salamander was installed.
