On a Journey of Discovery with Sister Helena – Experience Nature and History Around Gnadental
The Gnadental Cultural Landscape Trail takes you on a particularly varied circular hike that combines nature and history in an exciting way. Accompanied by thelegendary Sister Helena, you’ll embark on a short journey of discovery through a vibrant cultural landscape full of stories.
Over a distance of about 8 kilometers, you’ll hike through the charming surroundings of Gnadental, a hamlet of Michelfeld. Well-maintained trails lead you through meadows, fields, and peaceful stretches of forest. Along the way, 17 lovingly designed stations await you, where you’ll learn interesting facts about the landscape, its use, and its development over the centuries.
Particularly impressive is the history of Gnadental Abbey: once a religious center, later a stud farm for the Counts of Hohenlohe, and even a mint at the start of the Thirty Years’ War—a place full of change and significance.
The Naturfreundehaus Lemberg is the perfect spot for a leisurely break. Or you can find a nice spot in nature and enjoy the impressive surroundings around Gnadental while having a picnic.
If you’d like to delve even deeper into history, you can also book a guided tour of the monastery church and learn more fascinating details.
