Stadtacker
From industrial wasteland to urban field! In 2012, students, citizens and landscape architects came together at an architecture festival to create a community garden on a previously contaminated site near the Wagenhallen. After the delivery of 30 truckloads of soil, the urban gardening really got underway. Trees were planted, a pond created, greenhouses, tool sheds, caravans and a pavilion erected. More than ten years later, the Stadtacker is still a lively community garden project - and is a surprising oasis between the railroad tracks and Prague cemetery. On a walk through the urban green space, you meet people of different ages, families, schools and institutions who are "plowing" together on plots or communal beds.
