Kunstmuseum Stuttgart (Museum of Modern Art)

Barrierefreiheit

In 2005, the Kunstmuseum Stuttgart was opened in a spectacular new building in the heart of the city. The glass cube, visible from afar, is open and inviting thanks to its transparency and today symbolizes the urban, modern face of the city. In addition to two to three major special exhibitions per year, the highlights of the city's art collection are presented here: including the most important Otto Dix collection and over 15,000 exhibits from the late 18th century to the present day. Incidentally, a large part of the 5,000m² exhibition space is located in a disused tunnel system.

A special setting for an exclusive event! The Kunstmuseum Stuttgart has a seminar room, a lecture hall and the "Cube" restaurant with a unique view over the center of Stuttgart.

Important note

The Kunstmuseum Stuttgart will close from April 14, 2026 until probably the beginning of 2027. (Neither the collection nor the exhibitions will be on display in the glass building.) The restaurant and bookshop are expected to remain open. We are temporarily exhibiting in the art building during the transition period (see exhibition "Das kalte Herz").
Prices and opening hours for "Das kalte Herz" in the Kunstgebäude will be different from those for the exhibition "Prägungen und Entfaltungen". Please visit the homepage for further information.
