With the major special exhibition "Ballet Miracle", the StadtPalais - Museum für Stuttgart tells the story of the Stuttgart Ballet from John Cranko to the present day for the first time. In cooperation with the Stuttgart Ballet, the exhibition sheds light on the unique significance of dance in Stuttgart and the worldwide appeal of the so-called "Stuttgart Ballet Miracle". The starting point is the international breakthrough of the Stuttgart Ballet in New York in 1969. Under the direction of John Cranko, the company developed into one of the leading companies in the world from the 1960s onwards. Costumes, set designs and immersive light and video projections bring the history of the Stuttgart Ballet to life in the StadtPalais. The exhibition spans the historical beginnings of dance in Stuttgart, from the Cranko era to his successors and pays tribute to ballet as a formative cultural heritage of the state capital.
