The tour of the museum is oriented around epochs and schools and takes you through three different buildings - the Old Building, the Stirling Building and the Steib Halls. The impressive museum complex thus reflects the combination of tradition and modernity. The color concept and guidance system, which are coordinated with the content, let you experience the paintings and sculptures from the 14th to the 21st century in their art-historical development. The main collection is the art of the 20th century.
The Staatsgalerie, which is one of the most visited museums in Germany, houses a total of masterpieces from around 800 years on 12,000 square meters of exhibition space. The permanent exhibition of the Staatsgalerie is complemented by regularly changing special exhibitions - so you can discover something new every time you visit!
