Rosensteinpark Stuttgart

This Way

in 3.8 Kilometer Start Route

Through the magnificent Löwentor gate, you enter the extensive Rosensteinpark from the north, which was laid out in the style of an English landscape park at the beginning of the 19th century. And you are already in one of Stuttgart's most beautiful green spaces. 100 hectares are planted with both native and exotic deciduous trees, as well as mighty conifers such as the Californian sequoia.

The State Museum of Natural History is located in Rosenstein Park and has two sites. To the north is the Museum am Löwentor with its exciting palaeontological exhibition on dinosaurs and fossils. In the southern park, you can visit the biological exhibition about today's animal world and its habitats in Rosenstein Castle.

Rosenstein Castle was built as a neoclassical country palace under King Wilhelm I by his court architect Giovanni Salucci. On the east side of the castle, you can stroll through the beautiful rose garden.

To the east, the park adjoins the zoological-botanical gardens of Wilhelma, also a former royal garden.

Rosenstein Park is part of the "Green U".
