Up and Down Through the Kocher Valley—A Discovery Tour Around Wilhelmsglück
The loop hike begins at the parking lot near the Wilhelmsglück mine and initially heads toward the Kocher River to the former power plant. After just a short while, the view of the surrounding landscape opens up, before the trail gently ascends and winds along the edge of the forest.
A steep section takes you through the shady forest up toward Uttenhofen. From there, the route continues along scenic trails toward Hopferich and finally back down into the idyllic Kocher Valley. In the valley, the trail follows the course of the river, passing the former waterworks on the way to the Kocher Bridge. It then heads back uphill toward Wilhelmsglück via meadow paths and along a quarry.
A special highlight is the Kochersteg, which crosses the river in a spectacular way and offers beautiful views of the valley. Along the way, quiet spots and seating areas invite you to take a break—ideal for a relaxing family stop.
Some sections are steep and require sure footing and sturdy shoes. Those walking the trail in the opposite direction should be aware of the more challenging descent.
