Two Days in Stuttgart

Two days in Stuttgart - that means you can take your time. The programme for Stuttgart in One Day can easily be extended for two, so you could take in both of the automobile museums. But of course Stuttgart has a wealth of other museums, too. Whether you prefer ethnology or natural history, art or history: click your way through the Museums and Galleries of the Stuttgart Region and you're sure to find something to suit!

Before you set off on your voyage of discovery, it's worth dropping in at "Hüftengold", a café that really lives up to its name with food that goes straight to the hips! But they also have a pretty impressive breakfast menu.

If your focus is on shopping, go to Königstraße for well-known fashion chains, the area around the Stiftskirche (Collegiate Church) for exclusive labels, and the Gerberviertel (Tanners' Quarter) for individual boutiques. Also very recommendable: The hip shopping area FLUXUS with unique shops and cafés. In Calwer Straße you'll find attractive gabled and timbered buildings, exclusive stores and international restaurants.

How about a visit to the award-winning Stuttgart Opera in the evenings, where the world-famous Stuttgart Ballet also gives its enthralling performances? (reservations needed).

An alternative evening programme: There's no shortage of lively bars and cafés all around the Hans im Glück ("Lucky Hans") fountain, especially during summer weekends. You get a good view over Palace Square from the "Waranga", from where you can watch the 'in' crowd over an Aperol spritz "seeing and being seen". Or indulge yourself with fine cuisine in one of the many restaurants - Swabian, international or exotic. Here you'll find restaurants, cafés and nightlife tips in the Stuttgart Region.

If you plan to spend two or three days in Stuttgart, it's worth getting our Discovery Ticket: the StuttCard offers free entry and attractive reductions on a host of visitor magnets, such as the State Gallery or the Mercedes-Benz Museum.
